If walls could talk, here’s what the ones of the ComLife house might say; some would say I’ve seen many times of laughter, funny games of Cranium (what is a double breasted jacket anyway?), grumpy and creepy neighbors, they’ve smelled some interesting things (some from the kitchen and some from well, you can guess I’m sure), they’ve listened to many upon many stories about poop at the dinner table, they’ve rocked out to a dance party and many birthdays, they’ve also seen some tears and broken hearts, hurts feelings and bruised knees. The walls of this house have welcomed police at 6am, said goodbye to boys at 11pm, but somehow hasn’t gotten rid of a cock roach or two or fourhundred! They’ve witnessed tension between community but also the long road of walking out what it means to love like Christ. Oh what sort of books these walls could write! What would they say about the laughter and memories made with Sue at dinner, the birthday party for Barton, the bombing of roaches, the crazy “perfume” movie Kash and I watched, the episodes of the Office and the “that’s what she said” jokes?

The wood, dry wall, plaster and paint on these walls have stood to see many memories made and lives changed in the past nine months if only I could retain all they have seen, the good and the not so good to remember where we’ve come from and where we’re going as a community. Yea, this hasn’t been easy but it’s all been worth it, every step is worth it.  So guys, lets keep pressing in and keep digging deeper, God has something good for each of us and He will redeem all this for His honor and glory.

I love you all!
