Daniel went into a lions den because he refused to obey a law that said he couldn’t pray to God. Shadrack, Meshack and Abendego were put into a fiery furnace because they refused to bow down to anything but God. These men didn’t just love God, they LOVED God. They loved God enough to serve Him even when the risk for death was high. God saw the great love and devotion from these men. He saved them. He took care of them. He provided for them. He loved them.

No one has ever passed a law that said I couldn’t pray to my God. No one has ever asked me to bow down to an idol. I’ve been asked, enticed and lied to by the enemy to do things to compromise my soul and to keep me from receiving God’s blessings.
I look at the stories of those men and many other stories in the Bible of people who loved God enough and trusted Him enough to stand up for His name against the worst of trials, threats and persecutions and even death itself. These truths of people who had great love and trust for God cause me think on the many times I’ve faced the enemy and didn’t stand for my King. I’m in awe at how He saved these men from lions and fire and I have trouble trusting God with my finances, my relationships, and my future. Seriously?! My King loves me, He desires my heart and He longs to be trusted with ever intricate detail of my life. The big things and the small things, He wants to be in the driver seat.
My Beloved,
Please forgive me for not trusting, for not loving You enough.
You are the Great Provider and You know the deep longings and desires of my heart. In Your time and by Your will, You will bring all good things promised to pass.
Thank you for desiring a love with me. Give me a burning passion to love you increasingly deeper everyday. Amen
Let this encourage you to desire Him as He so desperately desires you. He longs to have a deep relationship with you. He is a good God. Hold to Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
